Wills & Probate
We have been writing Wills for clients for over 40 years.
You don’t really need us to point out to you just how important a Will can be. This is especially important if you have young children or own your own business.
Despite what The Law Society (the professional body for solicitors) likes to say, there is no legal requirement that you should use a solicitor to write your Will for you. Solicitors are a lot more expensive than chartered accountants (I have heard of even a very straightforward Will costing over £1,000 when using a solicitor!). Using a chartered accountant such as ourselves is as risk free as using a solicitor – we have the same experience, and we have very similar professional indemnity insurance in place to protect you should anything go wrong. If you are a client of ours, we bring the added advantage of already having a considerable knowledge of your business and taxation affairs to help us with the preparing of your Will.
As a “tech savvy” firm we always look for a solution that makes life easier for our clients or potential clients. If it has taught us anything, the pandemic has highlighted the point that good quality professional services can be delivered online without the need for a physical office. Our clients have seen this with the way we deliver accountancy and taxation services. We are now looking to expand the online concept to preparing Wills.
We are now working with arken.legal, a leading provider of technical software to the legal profession, to enable our clients to complete a straightforward Will online. In our experience, 70% of Wills could be completed online. Online Wills is a fully-featured interactive Will drafting service, utilising Arken’s intelligent interview questionnaire to collect information, and automatically draft your Will. Will packs, which include your Will, a Will commentary, and signing instructions, can be sent to you immediately or reviewed by ourselves before delivery.
Our online Wills service is available through our wholly owned subsidiary company, Cracroft Wills & Probate Ltd, and can be accessed at: https://www.onlinewillservice.com?OL-6235-BEF-0207-UJE
There are situations where preparing a Will online is not the right thing to do. Please follow the link above to find out whether an online Will is suitable for you.
Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
