I am pleased to let everyone know that we have a new website!
I decided to change the website so as to focus more on useful information for our visitors and clients and less on "We're a firm of chartered accountants, so we do accounts and tax!" As they say, the clue is in the name
I also wanted to put more emphasis on our advisory services, that is to say 'forward looking' services which focus on business planning, cash flow forecasting, funding support, tax advisory, gtechnology advisory, strategic planning, etc., where we can help clients manage and improve their businesses. We will always provide compliance services, i.e. the preparation and filing of regulatory documents to HMRC and Companies House, but I suspect that in the future this work will become less and less the focus of our work as computer software becomes more and more sophisticated and integrated.
The website is brand new and will inevitably have some glitches. I decided it was better to get something up on the Internet as soon as possible once we had left IRIS rather than wait weeks or months with no website while everything was honed and fine tuned. As my mentor, James Ashford, says "90% is usually good enough".
I want to increase our social media presence with more blogs and newsletters, again in order to help clients, and in the late Summer start looking at webinars and online tutorials. I believe it is very important to keep clients informed of any changes and devlopments that might (or even will) affect them. As many of you know, I was very upset during the recent lockdown with the poor level of communication to clients from my fellow accountants. You don't have to be in the office to send out emails to clients, you just need to keep them reassured that someone is fighting on their side.
Finally, a big 'thank you' to Heenal and her colleagues at Informanagement for all their help and for making the gestation of my new 'baby' so painless and smooth.
Many regards and keep safe
