We are a Xero practice. No “ifs” and no “buts”. We think Xero is the best thing since sliced bread. In our opinion, it is a lot easier to use than the other online accountancy packages (QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, etc.), and it does exactly what it says on the box. Xero is the centre of our cloud environment and we use it in conjunction with cloud based apps such as Dext (formerly Receipt Bank), Fluidly and Fathom. These apps enable us to offer specialised advisory services to help you run your business more efficiently and with greater understanding of where your business is coming from and, more importantly, of where it is going to. To make this work for us and you, we will only take on as business clients companies and firms who are already using Xero or who agree to change to Xero shortly after joining us.

Finally, we really do like our clients. Because we work exclusively on fixed fees and do not charge any client by the hour, we can afford to be a bit more relaxed about the time we spend with clients. Freed from the tyranny of comparing time sheets with fee notes, we can concentrate on carrying out better work for our clients in return for a fair and reasonable fee. We will never be the cheapest accountants on the block (we leave that to the unqualified accountants!) nor the most expensive, but we will always be amongst the most fair.

Value-added services

As mentioned above, we know that many of our current and prospective clients want more from us than just the basic compliance work which any accountant, qualified or not, can provide to some degree or other. We want to help clients achieve their dreams and goals not only in their business life but also in their personal life. We therefore use cloud based apps that integrate with Xero to provide the tools which will help us do this.

Making Tax Digital (“MTD”)

We are a Xero Silver Partner firm and certified Xero Advisors and Xero Migration experts. We are experts in Cloud accounting and understand how all businesses will be affected by MTD. The first stage of MTD was MTD for VAT, which came into effect on 1 April 2019. Self-employed businesses (including buy-to-let landlords) with income over £10,000 will come under MTD for Income Tax from 2023/24. Limited companies will follow three years later.
If you are, or are going to be, affected by MTD then please come and talk to us. We are always pleased to give advice to clients on how MTD will affect them and how any impact can be mitigated.
